wow its been a long time!

Wow its been awhile since I last wrote! My siblings birthdays came & went along with mine. I had a fantastic birthday with lots of wishes & a wonderful group of friends celebrating with a bowling party. Most of all the special blessings my 2 very good friends did to make my birthday extra special with every little thing they did including bringing me my favorite drink dr pepper! Since moving here I know God has blessed me with such wonderful & caring friends. I continue to be reminded of that fact everytime my lovely friends talk with me or send me an email or do something else for me. I get teary eye everytime i think about what terrific friends God has blessed me with. When I moved all i did was cry about how much I missed my friends & family in the midwest and although I still do miss people i know God had a purpose for bringing our family to CA. At first I was really shy (hard to believe huh?)& had no friends but then all it took was some encouragement to meet people. It took me a long time before I started attending the youth group at my church & getting to know people in the youth but finally through different paths that god took me through I got to come to know some really awesome people!
Anyway I will go on to all the other things I have to say. Rest of February came & went with me getting busy for the JBF sale I do which went well. I made alot!
I am using the money to hopefully go to our youth groups conference they go to every year called Move/CIY & also to benefit some other camper to go to Camp Barnabas this summer.
I guess thats all for now! busy summer ahead!

Happy Late Thanksgiving/Nov. and Dec. update

Well, Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! I sure did and its only a few weeks til Christmas and ugh time flies so quickly!
For thanksgiving we went to my cousins ranch they live on that my aunts extended family owns the ranch and several of them have their houses on the property.
It was in the middle of nowhere Texas. We had a wonderful time there and even got to see 10 (yes a litter of 10!) 3 week old puppies that my cousins dog coco had. They were so adorable! I have a funny story to tell. Well, there is this cross on top of a hill and 2 of my cousins were up there for awhile & my cousin Daniel came down the hill but left his sister up there while she was on the phone but the funny part is that she did not realize he left her alone up there til 2 hours later and her phone died so she got freaked out and came running into our room which we shared and was out of breath and I told her I had been looking everywhere for her. So she told me what happen and I asked her some questions and she told me she was getting sleepy up there and if she had fallen asleep she probably would have had some wild animal eat her. Although there is probably nothing that would eat her there could have been something that happened so I am thankful she came back. Then to top it off coco started barking and I freaked out that a stranger was out there so I locked our doors although it was probably a small critter but the next day when I told my cousin who is the girls younger sister she thought out rood not to protect her and the other girls in the room ha ha. November was fun along with my moms and sisters bday. December came with the first weekend of fun with 2 girls from uganda staying with us from a choir that was performing at our church that sunday so they stayed friday and saturday. They were so cute and funny! They were the most energetic 9 and 10 year olds I have ever seen! They love repeating movie lines such as Home Alone and the way they said it sounded like "oh my lord" which was funny. They also like Mcdonalds and High School Musical & not to mention playing my brothers drums louder than him ha ha. Over all it was a great time and maybe if they come back we can have them stay with us again!
Thats all for now! Merry Christmas! Leah

update of sorts

well not much going on to update about me. My Mom and sister are both celebrating their birthdays on the 17th. I am knitting up a storm trying to get things done before christmas sigh if ever lol. I am so thankful that I get to spend time with my younger cousins and aunt & uncle that we usually don't get much visits with them as my other cousins on my dads side for thanksgiving although it will be different not being at my grandmas old place but it still will be nice. (Pray that her house will sell as well as our house in STL!)
I think thats all I will write for now!

Revolve tour and an update

Hey Everyone! Its monday and I guess I should write an update after a fun weekend with my mom, friends, and their moms at revolve tour. If you have a teen or know of a teen who has never been to revolve I encourage you to check it out in your closest city and plan to go sometime! Its put on by women of faith conference and thats how I found out about it was when I went to women of faith conference.
Well, now you probably want to know how it went. This was my 3rd year to go and it seems to get bigger and better each year. Friday was awesome with the best part being my favorite singer Natalie Grant put on a concert at revolve and I got to go near the stage while she was singing. (you can only do that if you have floor seats which we did)Natalie is my inspiration into singing and I love singing high like she does in some of her songs so that made it extra special. My mom and I have been on the floor every year we have gone except this year I got some of my friends to go with me and they brought a few friends too. Also a friend of my friend that went said Natalie prayed with her which I thought was cool.
Saturday brought even more fun such as getting up early ugh lol and us waiting on my friend & her friend who over slept (we were trying to get their early to get autograph line tickets what a mess)but we managed to get there (even though my friend was so desperate she forgot a few things)and her friend got an autograph ticket for hawk nelson and I got one for Natalie Grant (Yea!) and Jenna Lucado. (for those that don't know she is author Max Lucados daughter)
I felt bad for my friends that did not get any autographs but if I gave my Natalie ticket to one friend it would leave the others out. Jenna was so sweet and really talktive. In fact she kept saying sorry for keeping people waiting as she loves to talk more than signing lol. I got Natalies autograph after past revolve tours not getting there in time for autographs and such frustrations so I was happy. I also got my free cds from the contest I won Friday in time to listen on the way to revolve and heres the surprise I did not expect they were autographed! It was so cool to have a Hawk Nelson and Krystal Meyers cds autographed already!
It was also cool cause this little boy (about 4 or 5 years old) came up on stage when hawk nelson was performing and he was from the ronald mcdonald house. I am not sure what was wrong but he had shade glasses protecting his eyes so anyway he came up on stage and sang you are my sunshine which made the lead singer cry & then he played the drums & also later while they were singing he went over and picked up a guitar & it was funny. He also had a drum stick and touched the crowd with it & then touched with his hands lol. He was so adorable! I wish I had gotten a picture of him.
Their was also this 13 year old boy who started his own organization and it was awesome to hear that he started it when he was 9 years old and his story.
Then to top it all off we went to taco bell afterwards and then I got to spend the night with my friends! Sunday we went to see high school musical 3 which was awesome!
Better than the previous movies!
Well, I guess I will go for now! Its certainly been a super awesome weekend!

Awesome Pregnancy Center Banquet

Wow what can I say but the banquet was awesome and they did a wonderful job making it look lovely! It was a fun evening with great speakers and a very funny time watching the live auction. I knew alot of people that were there. The most wonderful part was this guy who did some awesome paintings including one of elvis presly (sp?) and of Jesus.
Their was alot of teary eyes in the room too.
Well, I guess thats all for now but I may try to figure out how to post a video of the guy who did the awesome paintings.
Leah
Ps the lady who I babysat her twins while she was on bedrest with the 2nd set was there along with the new babies who are now almost 3 months old. While she went to the restroom I held Julia and she is so cute! The babies are cuter in person than the pictures!

October will fly by fast and before I know it will be thanksgiving and then christmas sigh lol! I think thats all i have to say for now!

Contests and more!

Well the other day my older sister entered me in a contest about making a difference and if the entry was read on the radio you got 2 cds well my sisters entry was on the radio about me so I get 2 cds. I also get a chance to win a grand prize trip to Orlando for Revolve Tour, meet hawk nelson, and go to a ronald mcdonald house. They announce the Grand prize winner tomorrow (Friday Sept. 26th) so wish me luck! Also I entered a similar contest in a magazine called Brio to win a chance to meet Natalie Grant my inspiration singer and favorite but I don't think I won. That contest said winners will be notivied by sept 30th so I have a little chance.
So anyway thats neat and so sweet about my sister entering me in a contest.
Heres what she wrote about me:
My 16-year-old sister volunteers weekly at a local Pregnancy Resource Center and regularly uses her allowance and babysitting money to buy new baby clothes for the center. She knits baby blankets and hats for people in the hospital, at church, or anyone else in need, and she volunteers weekly in the church nursery. If that weren't enough, she spends all year raising money to travel from California to Missouri to attend Camp Barnabas, a camp for kids with disabilities. Leah truly has an heart for others and has reached out to countless individuals by showing God's love through her actions.

I love my sister so much! She is so kind to think of entering me into this contest. Hopefully I will get my cds soon!
I think that may be all I have to say unless I win or think of something else I will update tomorrow.
Thanks! Leah
Ps Keep me in prayer to find more babysitting jobs as the ecconomy is so bad right now everyone is tight on money and I feel bad asking to be paid when most don't have much money! Also prayers needed to find ways to raise money for scholarship fund for Camp Barnabas as I really want to give back to the camp that has meant alot to me over the years I have gone.
